I'm going to be swapping out my 318 for a 360 this winter and i have a question. I have read that you may need to swap out the oil pan for some of them to fit in a car ,from what i read there are two pans, one with a center sump and one with an end sump. I'm not sure what the 360 came out of but can anyone tell me if this pan will work with my 69 charger? It look like it will work but not positive.

I'm no expert, just picked up my first vintage Mopar project... but I found a thread that indicates that a truck pan is rear sump?

I'd probably try to confirm that from another source just to make sure... But if that info is accurate, it looks like you should be good. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in here?

The pan in your photo looks very similar to the pan on the 360 I put in my '68 Coronet. I would think it would fit but why not get out your measuring tape and compare this pan to the pan on the 318 that's currently in your Charger?

1st its a little hard getting a good read on the tape because some of it is hard to get to although I have taken pictures it looks the same. But I guess my biggest question would be if there are only 2 different pans ..a car and a truck pan with the car pan having the sump towards the front and truck in back than this would have to be the right pan, but I'm not sure if that is the truth haven't really been able to find conclusive evidence of that hoping some would know here. :scratchchin:

I know it can be tight but I've found that if I get the front of the car up on ramps or jack stands I've been able to get measurements close enough to know whether or not a possible replacement pan will fit.  At least that's been my experience with Mopar and GM cars.
I'm no expert on oil pans, but today while at a friends place I saw a 360 engine sitting on the ground and it was very obvious it was out of a truck (the deep part of the pan was to the rear of the engine). Very obvious.
