I recently purchased a 1973 charger with a 1969 383 hi po couldn't get it to idle right today I pulled the valve covers to find the number 7 intake push rod bent like a 4 speed shifter also number 8 intake and exhaust pushrods no marks on pistons . The only thing I know for sure is it is .60 over with flat top pistons and a purple cam not sure of lift or duration any ideas ?

Possibly the timing chain jumped due to worn/broken plastic teeth on the cam gear.

So you removed the cylinder heads.  Pics of the push rods, pistons, combustion chambers might help.  What kind of rockers?  How long ago was it rebuilt and driven since the rebuild.  How long has it run poorly, or was it that way when you got it?

Got the car that way looks like a recent rebuild. No visible damage to anything but the three pushrods lifters still in there holes and intact . No marks on pistons at all. No marks on valves. Plane on having heads checked out at machine shop . plane on running a comp cam xe268h new lifters pushrods rockers with edelbrock performer and 750 Holley should I check anything else ? Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.
