Skipping ahead, I love the reflections on the big ass hood.  Black helps...

Speedometer not working in pic, but thanks to wingnut that and a lot of other misc stuff will be put right!

Carpet done, Dash in

Back pads and seat in

My helper putting the seat cookies on.

Tightening down the passenger seat.  "Great father and son project" LOL

Seats and console in

Trim on.

I still have to fix the door locks, put on the door pads, shoulder belts, and install the underhood portion of the Classic Auto Air.  Seeing as how it is winter, the AC may take a while.

Very nice!  Love the pictures of your kid with the car.

For some reason not all the pictures are coming up.  :shruggy:

Thank you.  Hopefully the pics are visible now.

Is the V1G the code for the vinyl top ?

PrisonHack

sean257

Thank you.

Yes V1G on the fender tag = Full Vinyl Top - Black Gator Grain.  Somewhat unusual, I think 375 of the R/T's had it.

What a beautiful and fairly rare Charger!  Love to see it as a true father-and-son project !  It is obvious he loved helping you and is just as proud of it!  Awesome !

Godsmack635

That's awesome the kiddos are involved.  I love the black gator grain it looks great especially in the close up pictures.

And thanks for removing the burgundy...;)

Looking awesome. Excellent job so far. Cool to see the kids involved. My youngest (15) has been helping me on my red 70 Charger & my Challenger street/strip car lately. I am thinking of giving him my other 70' 500 S.E. Charger project car for his 16th Birthday for us to work on together.

That was a fast resto, it looks great! I really like how the LED dash lights look, I think I'm going to do that with mine.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

From seeing the pictures on the first page and these last ones... those kids are talented to do that.  :D

sean257

Thank you for the comments.

G--man, the kids are talented and fast!
Charger fan, I made a plan for 6 months, and was able to more or less stick with it.  Being able to do the seats and dash while the bodywork was being done helped.  I think that with the lights being blue to start with the white LED's look good too, because they tend to have a cooler color temp.  The only interior bulb that is incandescent is the gear indicator light.  The LED just wouldn't work there for some reason.
Mark, the longitudinal stripes would look perfect and original, but I just wanted the tail stripe.  I always thought they looked tuff.
6pk, that would be an awesome 16th birthday gift.  He just might need a little cash to go along with it. Man are parts expensive.
The kids are both pretty proud of it.  They both have the old emblems scattered about their bedrooms.

I met the lady that bought the car brand new today, and took a picture in the same driveway as it was in 47 years ago.  She said that she remembered the top being black when it was new, without brown dye?  Also, I think I know why I have the donor radiator core, and passenger door now.  She said that sometime after she sold it some kids were driving in the snow and ran into a house.  She is going to find the old article out of the paper for me.

Then and now:

Nice!  The pics when new and now are pretty cool.

Dino

Nice! What steering wheel is that?

The LED doesn't work in my gear indicator either. I measured the voltage there and it was too low for the LED to work. I have no idea why it's low there but it's something I need to fix.
