Hi guys!

Hoping one of you experts might be able to pinpoint a new noise! The whistling we think is from the rebuilt carb. But as I was driving yesterday this new noise started at idle. - rocking/rolling/gurgling noise. Sounds like it's near the alternator.

Here's a video https://youtu.be/fCmdZdqhAg0

It's a 69 charger r/t 440/727, console, PB, PS, A/C

I'm VERY new to all this so please use extra (dumb down) words if you think you can help!

Thanks!!

I am by no means an expert.  I would first rule out things that rotate via the belts.  Fan, A/C? alternator?.  I do not think it is carburetor.  My inclination would be to see if I could find it without the engine running (e.g, by loosening the belts and spinning things).

I also might try to localize it with some sort of listening device (stethescop, rod, tube (like that from my shopvac (listening through the other end, make sure to disconnect from shopvac - also don't turn on shop vac because you can suck your brains out). I know I have tried this, but don't know if I have made it work.  A stethoscope and a metal rod or screwdriver does work though).

Hopefully someone else hears it.  (I had a similar thing last week with a loose pulley and then my son has one like it on another car where the bearings went on the water pump.  SO my bet is that it is one of those things that is rotating.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I agree, loosen the belts and turn stuff by hand. It should be very evident if it is a bearing going out, you will be able to feel it with your hand as you turn it.
