What is a button clutch?

Typically a race only clutch. The mid plate with the friction material is built different then a "standard" clutch. The main differnce is how they apply. They do not slip as a normal clutch will on take off. They are more like a switch; on or off, no inbetween. If you try to street drive them and take off normal, they typically buck and jerk or shudder horrible. Im curious what cbs is putting it in and why?

Centerforce's twist on a button clutch trying to make it more streetable. Never driven behind one to be able to give a review.

How is any clutch gonna work with the holes in the flexplate in A383Wing's link above?
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Often also known as a paddle clutch....at least in the a UK. Truly horrible on the street due to the on/off nature with makes them virtually undrivable in heavy traffic....race/track only imo.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you !!
