leading the quarter panel below door?

I am wondering how I should attach the lower part of the quarter panel. I know the factory used lead here. But I am not sure if this is the way to do it?
Please opinions needed, and if anyone has links to pics showing this PLEASE post them. thank you

The factory used lead as a body filler .its not used to attach any body components . From what I rember there should be  4-5 plug/spot welds along the side of the rocker/quarter ,and 4-5 plug welds along the bottom of the rocker/quarter . Then there should be plug welds along the pinch weld every 1"-1.5"

Thanks for responding, I do remember the spot welds like in the pic. And I will defiantly do this.
I know some guys still use the lead, and some use some type of reinforced filler. What type is good for this and the quarter to roof seam?
Is AllMetal a good choice? (please include pics or links)

If you want the roof to quarter seam to to be shrink free it needs to be either leaded,or make a steel patch to fill the void.

Just my  but I did spot welds at the rocker seam, plug welds where the quarter overlaps the rocker on the bottom, and used US Allmetal for filling the seam instead of lead. For what it's worth I used Allmetal for the c pillar seam as well.

I would agree...allmetal or a high quality glass filler for anywhere the factory used lead

I agree.  I've seen the lead "show" to many times underneath the paint. No lead on my cars.

Go to a car show on a hot day and look for cars that you can see the seem is sweelled it will be not lead every time. Unless it's a survivor that got moisture behind it. I put a vinyl top on my black charger because it'd the car was cool the seams looked perfect, but on a hot sunny day you could see them. That was with all metal and I've seen it with many fillers. Any that I have leaded are rock solid stable.

Yes. The problem with plastic filler even metal rich plastic filler is that it expands and contracts at a much different rate than steel. This Isn't a problem normally, but when it's 1/4 inch thick and right net to that it's hardly any thickness at all it's going to show up. Now if it's getting covered by a vinyl top you will never see it.
