Fresh Air-Heater Duct

1968 Dodge Charger R/T
The picture shows the flexible duct that connects the Cowl to the AC/Heater Box.
The material appears strong and in good condition.
The spiral wound wire and flanges shows surface rust.

Should I try spraying something on it or use it as is? 

I am afraid to find out what a replacement would cost, and it would be much lower quality, if available.

these are not reproduced......if yours is not ripped anywhere, consider yourself one of the luck ones. I would just use it as is....it's not seen anyway....and you might use something on it that might not agree with the material

I may just try to mask the material and touch-up the flanges.
