As a 2nd gen. race car, I like it, not so much for the street look though

Those front/rears wheel well openings look ridiculous. I like a low car but the wheels and fires need to be tucked up under the quarters.

Post up a pic of that lowering job on a 1970s dirt oval racer, and we say "cool!"

Post up a pic of that same lowering job on a modern pic, and we say "it's ruined!"

Meh, both are ruined.

A dirt track car would have more ground clearance.  This one should of had the wide body treatment put on it, or the wheels tucked.

Stevearino

Looks a lot like this from Fast 8. By the way. If you are going to modify the car this much why bother with a second gen Charger? :shruggy:

It's obviously not in finished form here.

No matter what you do or don't do, someone will not like it.
That said, I have to agree that the wheel openings don't look right.

good idea  :yesnod:

I would love to build a exact  or as close as I could  68 /68  grand national charger , sit the body nose down on the chassis etc ... even easier now with all the new repop sheet metal to use as a outer skin & not cutting up a good car etc

That's my car!   It was updated into the #6 blue Daytona that Gary Bettenhausen drove at Pocono, Sept. 1971.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Kinda funny my friends LOVE it the big fender flares on it because by their logic they said you can fit fatter tires back there for more grip, but then I said you can minitub to get a big wide 15inch tire back also their response was, 'Whats minitub?'

The muscle/classic car world's POV on flared fenders & quarters makes no sense.  Cutting on the quarters & fenders is "butchery", but torching out the entire rear 1/3rd of the chassis to fit the same tires is "doing it right."

flared fenders dont keep the original body shape, mini tub does. i like it when the quarters are widened, keeps the stock-ish look better a much bigger tire
