Corey Eubanks with my Charger in London

Had the opportunity to spend the afternoon with Dukes stuntman Corey Eubanks this week. He's here in England shooting Michael Bay's Transformers 5 and through my good friend Danny Hall we arranged to meet.

He was genuinely surprised to see the General Lee in England and was very gracious and showed us a great deal of hospitality.

















We all sat and talked for hours about Dukes, Fast and Furious, Transformers and all the other crazy stunt work he's done for the last 30 years.
He's such a funny guy with a million stories about production, film stars - good AND bad - and I had a blast.

It's interesting driving a big block Charger in backed-up London traffic though!!

Thanks! I'm pleased to say I've never had a negative experience driving the Charger in the UK. In fact it was quite bizarre - driving through snarled up Central London in rush hour traffic, London buses and black cabs were waving me through.

Thanks! The seats are Recaro from a European Ford. Had them re-trimmed to match the replacement '69 rear seat cover.

Haha!! He does, and I watched them all in the week before meeting Corey - so I had some informed comments and questions for him.
My favourite episode is #1 - the one about 'stealing' a General Lee on the Golden Oaks Ranch before he became a Dukes stuntman.
Very funny story, and to hear him tell it in person was cool.

It is a '68. I wanted a '69, but took what I could get as I'm in the UK. I imported it from the US and it was cheap and missing quite a bit, so I don't feel too bad for fitting a '69 tail panel, grille, dash and seat covers. When the car's painted soon I'll shave the '68 markers.

Don't sweat it about the wrong year. 

Both years have always been used 100% indiscriminately in the DOH episodes & movies once the basic conversion steps were taken.   As far as the film crews were concerned a GL was a GL.  They did not know or care which years of cars/parts had been used to build what.  That was at the discretion of the mechanics. 

The mechanics were just told to make the cars look alike.  They elected to keep '69 grills & taillights, and everything else that varied from car-to-car was eliminated or downplayed.  They didn't hesitate to put '68 parts onto '69 cars, or show '68 parts onscreen in closeup shots, etc.
