Roadrunner seatbelts in a Dakota

The other day, the seat belt in my Dakota malfunctioned, and I was trapped in my truck just sitting in the driveway. I tried everything to fix them where I sat, but wound up having to cut my way out. That was a ruined seatbelt assembly.

Bummer, as they are hard to find in junkyards. I suppose it is a result of the cash for clunkers thing. What a bad idea that was!

Anyway, I remembered that I had an old seatbelt assembly (shoulder harness and all) from a 73 Roadrunner just laying around in my shop. So, with a little trimming of plastic, I put them in my Dakota, and they work just fine.

I think my Dakota runs a whole lot stronger now too. I think it added about 15 horsepower (hee hee)

But yeah, it was a pretty easy fix, and they work great.

Who would have thought we could put 73 Roadrunner seatbelts in a 90s model Dakota?
