I know this is a hard question but here it goes. I need to know what this 68 Charger with a 383 non numbers but rebuilt and a factory 4-speed is worth. The tranny is #s matching though. It Here is a few options that it has.Pass side mirror, tach, console headrests and swaybar is what I know of as of right now.It will run and drive fine. The trunk pan center has alot of tiny holes but the extentions are great! The floors and unibody are super nice yet.I think it will need lower quarters though. It was a RARE color combo from the factory as it was Maroon with Saddle interior. This thing is straight and runs good. Thanks everyone for your help.

???
im not shure on the whole thing but on teh cglfc site, he had bought a gold 68 and it fell off a truck during transit i think,

kikgas01

Nope.I have the 440 outta the other one as well as the colorado plates! The other one had green dyed interior. This one was Maroon with saddle to start with.So can anyone help?

mikepmcs

got a pick or can you get a pick of that fender tag??
that's a heck of a repaint and interior job.

I know it isn`t a R/T. Here is the fender tag.If I was to sell it I would need atleast 12,500

bull

According to your tag it was a burgundy metallic car with a black interior, a black vinyl top and a 383/4bbl/4spd. It also came with an AM radio, a console, bucket seats, hood mounted turn signal indicators and a driver's outside remote operated mirror. There doesn't appear to be a code on your tag for a tachometer so it must be an add-on and I don't have any code for headrests, if there ever was one. I don't know where you came up with "saddle" for the interior color but the C6X under TRM means C for Charger, 6 for vinyl bucket seats and X for black. From what I can tell your car looks to be in similar condition to my numbers matching 383/2bbl/4spd '68 which I paid $5,500 for about three years ago. IMO $12,500 is pretty steep. I'd say between $8k and $9k realistically. Now don't freak out. Remember, you asked. :icon_smile_cool:

kikgas01

No problem Bull I appreciate that! Thanks again! I just thought bein less than 300 factory 4-speeds it might be kinda rare.

Yes, they are rare but it takes a certain kind of buyer to want to pay extra for rarity so you'll have to be more patient than you would otherwise. I look at your car and I start adding all the restoration costs up in my head but someone with a lot of money doesn't have the same concerns as a guy like me. You find the right guy and you might get your $12,500 but it might take a while to find him. Another setback to getting that kind of money (especially with the rarity collector guys) is that the engine is not original. Those guys like that kind of stuff obviously. But hey, clean it up, put a dash pad and radio in it, steam clean the engine, fire it up and see what happens.

kikgas01

I haven`t bought it just yet.Thats why I needed to know what it`s worth.

Not to come across bad, but it's worth what you're willing to pay for it, or anyone for that matter.. I personally wouldn't pay more than 8 to10K for it.. But, it is an original 4-speed car and that's cool... Burgundy as well....... Would look great restored.........

I'm not in to buying a Charger YET, but if I was i would pay 10K directly for a car like that because it is a 4-speed and that is what i would die for to get my hands on......

Even up to 12K seems not too much to me considering it is in a driveable condition......I repeat afetrall it is a 4-speed and they don't come around too much nowadays....

hey
$8500 seems about right. i like the car. your gonna run into some suprises on that body if you media blast it. thats when you'll know its real worth. i've been noticing that the less rust the more the car is worth and matching #'s counts for alot. just my 2 cents. Rene

All he is looking to do is turn it for the profit.  I asked what he was paying for it, and he said, " It does not matter what I pay for it, if anyone else wants it, it is $12,000."

You asked for help, and I am trying to get a better understanding if he is asking too much, but I see now.

He is asking just the right price and you are asking alittle bit more. :rotz:

We have a section for this, it is CARS FOR SALE.

So in other words, you are getting it very cheap and do not want to tell anyone what you really pay for it.

That is a shame that you ask a question on what it is worth, but do not want to disclose any other info on the car.

Good luck in your quick rip off.

THAT IS BULLSHIT AND YOU KNOW IT SMARTASS IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THEN TOUGH SHIT.YOU ARE JUST PISSY BECAUSE YOU DIDN`T FIND IT AND CAN`T MAKE MONEY ON IT.I SUPPOSE 69CHARGER2002 A.K.A. TRAVIS FOSTER IS A BAD MAN FROM SELLING CHARGERS TOO HUH????GROW UP CHARGERHOUND YOU IMMATURE  BRAT! I DIDN`T KNOW YOU ARE A MODERATOR OHHH WAIT YOU AREN`T SO DON`T TELL PEOPLE WHAT TO DO AND KEEP YOUR SMARTASS WORTHLESS COMMENTS TO YOURSELF.I NEVER SAID I WANT TO BUY A CAR TO SELL IT SO WHAT SHOULD I ASK FOR IT? NOW IF SOMONE WANTS THE CAR AND I DON`T BUY IT JUST P.M. ME!!!!(unless Bull wants it for 8,300 he would get first dibs).FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DON`T KNOW I SELL CARS,I CAN BUY THIS CAR FOR 8,300 DOLLARS BUT WILL HAVE 9K INTO IT TO GET IT HOME. I SELL CARS I SELL CARS I SELL CARS.I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT IF I GOT IT I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK OUT OF IT BECAUSE 9 GRAND IS ALOT OF MONEY.CHARGERHOUND IF YOU WANT IT 20 GRAND FOR YOU.

rare69

nothing wrong with asking for advise on the web site, and as for selling chargers to make money, more power to ya! i would rather get it from this web site for a few grand more than you bought it for than see it on ebay tomarow. :yesnod:

kikgas01

A quick note(chargerHOUND)( because he HOUNDS YA TO DEATH) if you use the little button called search you might find that I was looking for a Charger from 10 to 12k .......For a LONG time.........FOR MYSELF!!!! :moon:

Redchargerman

Hey Guys...been on this site for awhile and never seen anyone try to take advantage of a member. For the most part we help each other out a lot and I hate to see someone come in here and get pissy about a question. If someone was trying to make big bucks he'd put it on E-bay for sure.So maybe if he doesn't buy it, he'll give someone here a chance to get it. Just my opinion.

kikgas01

I`m currently trying to find somone to haul it from Wisconson to Iowa.Any takers?

DodgeChargerNeeded

I'm a little confused here. Are you buying the car and then selling it or just buying it. I knew you were looking for a car because you showed interest in my copper color 69 SE a few months ago that I sold. In my opinion if you can find cars to make a profit on go for it. If you don't the next guy will. I would say $12,500 for that car is a little high. I would say $8-$10k just from those pictures without knowing anything else. Obviously 4 speed is cool.
Jeff

kikgas01

I wanted it for myself but sadly probably won`t get it because I have no way of getting it home. :rotz:

kikgas01

If somone wants this car p.m. me and I will give a e-mail addy.I would post it but Chargerhound would get it and it`s 20 grand for him.The guy started out at 10k for it and I got him dowm to 8,300 to pick it up so he is a very nice guy.I think he would start at 10 again though so you would have to go from there.I hope somone on this great site can use it!!!!!!

Hey,

That is funny, you just told me you paid $9,000 for it now you say $8,300

Why don't you post all the messages that I sent you.  I asked you nicely to help answer your question.  You are the one that sent me all the responses, tap dancing around instead of just answering the question.

If you are embarrassed or something about buying and selling cars, maybe you better look for something else to do.  I have no problem with Buying and Selling, I do it myself.  What I have a problem with, is you don't answer simple questions.

Also, you might want to use the spell check instead of the CAP LOCK button.

kikgas01

ARE YOU BLIND?9K TO MY HOUSE OR 8,300 OUTRIGHT. :haha: :image_294343: :iamwithstupid:

kikgas01

Ask and you shall receive! By the way don`t tell me about selling cars.OOhhh wait you mean you rip peolpe off too??? here is his posts.Kinda pushy if you ask me

If you haven't bought it yet, what is the person asking for the car??

If it is $12,500, I would try to get him down to $8,000.

The fact that it is not the original engine, and maybe not the original trans, would decrease the value alot.

I would also make sure that the numbers match on the Vin and the fendertag and radiator support.

Where is the car located??

NOW I KNOW WHY HE IS BEING A ASS! I asked him about a old CRAPPY Charger he had once and he was rude to me and forgot about it and then later on asked me if I wanted it and I said I wouldn`t buy it if it was the LAST car on earth buecause of his bad attitude and rudness.....I will be the ADULT here and let this thread die.I`m sure he will cry like a baby and have some nonsence to say but he is just showing his age(or I.Q.) so just ignore him and he will go away like a little kid.I posted his P.M.s (or pms haha) like he asked and thats all he could say.Dude get a clue read what everyone else has posted and just let it go. :yesnod:

ChargerHound69

You mean you are still holding a grudge over that car.  You asked me if I would trade a 1969 charger for a 1984 camaro.

I told you you bumped your head.  I guess you really did, if you are still mad at that.  That was about 1 year ago.  Let it go!!

So that means you show a pattern of outbursts and tantrums.  You might want to get some help for that.
Remember, I am just trying to help, so don't go all crazy on me. :pity:

six-tee-nine

Hey dudes.......

This ain't funny no more.....

I guess if you really want that 4-speed car and you can have it for $ 8.300 than you should fly over there and buy it or perhaps rent a trailer if possible.....

If you want a Charger but it doesn't hav to be a 4-speed, then perhaps look a bit further and maybe you'll find an automatic closer by in a better condition for the same money.....

It is not funny anymore, that is true.

I am done, now that we have solved the real problem here, I think the thread is too.
