Anyone from the New York area recognize this one? It is at the Newburgh facility and it is a factory 383 2bbl car from the Vin#.

Hopefully, it will get saved. :'(

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Never heard of Copart, but there is a price of $16,000 for that POS.

Copart is an insurance auction disposal company. The $16,000 is the actual cash value of the car before the collision. The repair cost is listed at $12,000 and the current bid is $1,250. I am pretty sure you need to be a dealer or body shop to buy from them.

Looks like sombody guardrailed it or something against a side wall.  Went in on the front corner, and then the rear corner hit as the front end bounced back off.  And judging by the height of the front end, the drivetrain's already gone.

Now let's wait and see if HLPAG turns up pushing a new '68 General Lee that's only photographed from the right side . . .

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Yes, Copart handles the disposal of most total losses for insurance companies. There a bunch here in NJ as well, I work for an insurance company & used to visit one here called Car Tech. They had a bunch of totalled Prowlers & some Ferrari's.

It's gonna cost more than $12,000 to fix that one. Maybe $12000 in parts alone, or more. I'm thinking that one is gonna be marked as  a parts car, what a shame. For $1250, that's still good for that one. Lotsa good parts there.

You dont have to be dealer or body shop to buy from them, But you do have to register if you want to bid/win a car and pay a fee. You can simlply ask a friend that has registered with them to bid for you and win it for you

This may vary from state to state. In Wisconsin you have to be a licensed dealer because we were members and they required proof of license every year at renewal time. I had heard that some states were not as strict on this but, I don't know which ones.

Silver, take a good hard look at that car. Study it for a while. Really look at those pictures. With the exception of the roof, every exterior panel on that car is damaged, most beyond any means of repair. The inner structure is also toasted in the impact areas, & has likely travelled into the floor areas, especially the rear. It's gonzo. This isn't just a matter of "doing bodywork."
"If you can find a donor parts car", I'd suggest using this one as the parts car for the parts car. There's AT LEAST $12,000 in parts alone on that car that are damaged.

Depending on the salvage company, you at least have to be registered to be a bidder. Some here require you to have a dealer's license.

Silver, you are so funny!  ;D

rear end damage looks like mine  from  1974.  I got hit  by a guy  doing 65,  I was stopped at a red light.
Mine didn't have any front end damage till my buddy  bought it from me  and rolled it racing  in 1975.
It sat in the front row  of a junk yard in Darian NY  for years,,but that lot is gone now, closed somewhere in the 80's

unless you have a very, very strong attatchment to this car, parts car! :yesnod:

It would be great if someone could get the vin #. A record could be kept as to the remaining number of these cars as there were only 74 383 2bbl 4 speed made. I guess the 4 speed was pulled as it looks like a automatic is in there.

DodgeChargerNeeded

To buy from Copart you have to have a dealer license or salvage license to register and they are very strict and have very high buyer fees.

Where did you see it was a 4 speed car? It looks like an automatic brake pedal to me.
