No it's not a real STG-44 but it is made by a German company. It's a GSG STG-44! Chambered in 22LR! It's all metal and wood (except for the plastic magazines). Arrives in a week!

Nice. I just picked up an Enfield no4 Mark 1 last week.

This .22LR rifle is on my to buy list as well!

Looks like it should be a fun pew-pew gun. ;D Are they cheap/inexpensive?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I got a GSG STG-44 when they first came out in a wooden crate, I heard they don't offer the crate anymore?

Pretty close in appearance to the original Nazi Sturmgewehr 44 in 8MM Kurz.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Very nice  :2thumbs:. Something that I won't be picking up in Cali though, oh well.

That is true, only the first run had the wooden crate. Then there was a green fake wood crate.

I've had the pleasure of holding a real STG-44 once and when I first held one of the GSG ones it was really close to the original.

The new round of semi-automatic firearm restrictions only relates to center-fire rifles, 22LR is rim-fire. There is a 10-round mag for the STG 44 to make it California compliant.

There was a time when people tried to get rid of leftover third reich ''trash'' in every way possible, and nowadays all kinds of German equipment is being reproduced  :scratchchin:.
I've never seen one before, I knew the mp40's were reproduced, but I like this better  :yesnod:

They're still out there, story of a woman who turned in a real STG 44 to a firearm buyback program.  :'(

And a recent pic of one in action somewhere in Africa; apparently there are still a lot of the originals around over there.

Before the current .22 caliber replica there was the semi-auto PTR-44 in the original caliber, pretty rare now and they bring big bucks. As usual, I never heard of the PTR-44 until it was unaffordable.

There is a company doing a run (currently preorder) of STG-44 rifles, semi auto only, in various modern calibers (223, 7.62x39, .300 BLK) with a nice hefty price tag of $1800 USD a piece.

Very cool! I was in a pawn shops last week and looked at one. I thought it was kinda heavy to be a .22LR. would love to have a real one. I've been helping my Dad clean out a few things the past few Days and he gave me this. He bought it (and a lot of other stuff) in 1970 from a former American GI who had married a German girl. The lady had a pic of herself and Hitler when she was a young girl giving him flowers. My dad tried to buy the pic, but the lady wouldn't sell.

I have a couple of K98's. One is a Russian Capture, the other I'm not so sure about, but probably is.

They matched the weight of the original which I thought was a nice touch.

I used to collect a lot of militaria and should do so again.  :2thumbs:

Well took it out with a few friends and after sighting it in I'm happy with how it shoots. Can't really use it with a rest due to the massive magazine but at 50 yards it grouped well

We even broke a few clay pigeons at 200 yards with it!

I expected to see a black scope on there, you know...gotta keep up the "evil black gun" theme. :D
Nice grouping! :2thumbs:

Had an old German scope on it but it wasn't that good so I threw something modern I had kicking around in the parts bin.
