tag says different , do you know something we don't ?    :scratchchin:   what's this cars history

6bblgt

was NOT quite as pretty back in '07-'08  :o

polywideblock

so its wearing a fake tag   :2thumbs:    like a fat broad wearing those slimming pants  :brickwall:   its all good till you get them home

Mytur Binsdirti

And it's a fake tag made to look like it's 46 years old.   ::)

charger Downunder

Why put a fake tag on with different options when the original one looked good to me.

bigdsul

I'd like to see the restoration pictures of the car. The beginning point shell looks to have a lot of body filler. I'd be curious to see what is under that paint.

Wow, nice catch! Do you have any more pics from that time?

Crazy about the "aged" fender tag.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

hemi-hampton

Looks like he added  the A34 4:10 Dana Super Trak Pak option to go along with the newly added 4 speed. Who makes fake tags like that? LEON. :scratchchin: :shruggy: :slap:

P.S. Description said California car, Original pic looked to rough to be a California car :slap:

6bblgt

in order for the car to have been SOLD in California when new - N95 would've been required

N95 = ECS - Emission Control System ("CA emissions")

polywideblock

so XS29U0G185623 is a fake  ,just in case someone does a search    :2thumbs:

crj1968

A complete fake or just fender tag goofiness?

6bblgt

If you put a VIN in the title - it will be easier to locate in a search

someone put a "LOST" broadcast sheet ad on Moparts back in '07 also

a couple other pics I had saved

ws23rt

There are some questions about originality-- :scratchchin: -- but for the sake of discussion-- let's assume this car is just a pieced together rendition of someone's passion.

I wonder how close one could come to making a copy of this car --as it is in this ad-- for 55k?  :shruggy:
BTW I like what I see.  Even the color combo.

I dunno- this car was pretty well picked apart in another thread.... strange welds on door, bad gaps at doors and hood.

I believe you could pull this off for $55K as I think they skimped on bodywork.

It has the look from a distance but like said above, it'd be good to see resto pics.

Mytur Binsdirti

It does look good in pictures, however, the hood needs adjustment (up on left rear) which makes one wonder if that's indicative of the quality of work because it has been for sale for a long time.

ws23rt

It does look nice in the pictures.  I've heard the ballpark figure of 30k to do a resto of this sort so that would leave 25k for the shell and all the parts/pieces.

fc7_plumcrazy

car was bought "as is" by the dealer. It was sold from a private guy originally on ebay.
Think it sold for 47k? or 37k?
