me and the body man are putting the 72 charger se together and we need to buy these window clips (for lack of the proper term). They appear to have had some kind of rubberized coating on them when they were new but are now rusty looking metal. I have no idea what their proper name is, which has led me no search result matches when I try to find them online! does anyone know what their proper name is and where I can get them? Thanks!

no idea on the proper name   , but use to see them on a number of different  makes & models from the 70s 80s & some 90s ....

it is an anti blow out clip, the glass does not have support in the front & when going highway speed, the air pressure can & will pull the window out of the weather strip.

It's called a "retainer".  Not sure what it does ... maybe the anti-rattle as stated earlier.
Anyway, Charger part # 3499546-7 (yea, right-left, they look the same to me too - R-L respectively)
Unless Frank Mitchell has one, you best look in a classic yard on a junker. I think they are spot welded on????

He is just jealous because he has no one to look up hard-to-find parts for him.  But maybe if he is nicer to me ...  :whistling:

I believe they kept the window tight to the seal out when the incoming air to the cabin would tend to push it out.

Holy crap. About 15 years ago my friends and I were hauling a 1973 charger back to Pennsylvania when the rear window blew out onto interstate 80. Luckily nothing happened but now I wonder if the trim was there maybe the window would not have come out at 65 mph.
