Yes, I still have the car.  It's in project state right now.  I have some of it taken apart for restoring.  I have all the "hard to find" parts.  I'm in the process of buying aftermarket parts now.  I'm in Northern California (half way between Sacramento and Redding California).

Hey, Lee!
I live near Folsom Lake in Granite Bay. I bought my 70 Charger 500 in 2000 for $1700!
I like the wide tire look that you have. These cars have fenders that beg for big tires. The stock look seems like a big man with little feet what with 6 inch rims and an F 70 tire.
I see that you ran the classic BF Goodrich Radial T/A ! I ran several sets of that tire back then.
Was that a TYPO on that brown Challenger? $14 grand in 1986 ???

Cool Pics, thanks for sharing. Bought my F3 R/T SE in August of '82.

I Tried to buy my 70 R/T Charger in 1982 for $700.00. I bought it about 20 years later in 2001 but cost alot more then $700. LEON.

I hear ya. I purchased mine from a used car lot for $2200. My dad thought it was overpriced. The previous owner had traded it in on a Dodge Colt as he was commuting a few hundred miles one way (not everyday) to manage a Hardee's restaurant. I guess it worked out for him, he wound up being a regional manager or something and I think retired from there. He tried to buy it back, but would never pay anywhere near what it was worth. Not that I would have sold it.

The plate on the Blue Charger looks familiar. I did own a Blue 70 R/T, and bought it for $350 at the Pomona Swap meet as a running junk pile... Can't remember the plate, but also had the wrong seats in it.. Car was cut up and parts used on my Charger, a friends Challenger and a few other Chargers.

By the way, my car was purchased in 1979 by my Brother and Sister for $700.

Cool Pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us.
I'm guessing that with the wide front tires, your car has to have power steering.

QuoteI remember those days & the cheap Prices. $14k was alot back then in 86, 4 years earlier in 82 you probably could of bought it for $4k. & 4 years later in 1990 prices peaked it would probably been a $20k car. Prices really started going up in the mid 80's. LEON.

I could have seen that price being $1400 or $14,000 depending on the condition.  Such a wide variation at that time.

Nowadays people would walk by that car at a show and mutter about how "these cars were easy to find for a couple grand until Barrett-Jackson ruined it for everyone."

Only Charger "dealer" in knew about in that area, was/is, Brocker's Beauties, and what a piece of work Brocker was, when I tried to deal with him. Scams and lies...

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

A personalized plate was big stuff back then too. At least where I lived it was.

Oh yeah, I can remember just about the only place to get parts were junkyards. Tried to get a vapor separator and the local parts store told me it was a tractor filter. I just put it back on and decided I'd mess with it later. I still have it! Although, not on the car anymore.

Mytur Binsdirti

Back in 78 when I got my first Hemi Charger, there was still a ton of new parts available, but buying ones for my car was all I could barely afford. Had I had the insight and funds, I should have bought 10 of everything. For instance, a new hemi radiator was about $250.00 and a chrome Hemi air cleaner lid was around $60.00. Sounds cheap now, but when I was making 5 bucks an hour, it took a long time to save up.

That is a quintessential 80's muscle car look right there!!!!

Something else I've had almost as long as my Charger.  My dad had this painting done on wood about 1984 of my car.

Some of you have seen some of my signs I've made in the past.  I had these Roadrunner signs I did and they've always been bare wood.  I had my daughter paint one up and it doesn't look half bad.  Just thought I'd share.

Love the Roadrunner art work !  Actually, my initial search for a '60's muscle car back in the early '70's had me wanting a Hemi Roadrunner really bad!  I just actually "fell" into the current Charger by fate.

These new ads I am seeing on TV featuring a cartoonish Roadrunner just like our old one has me conflicted! I guess I will always think of the original Roadrunners when I see the new commercials.
