Building a 68 Street 440. Bottom end has a forged crank, ly rods, and Icon forged pistons. I have a set of 452 heads I was going to fully port with stainless valves, because I want that stock look under the hood. The cam was going to be a Comp Extreme Energy 274 hydraulic. After going through what needs to be done to these heads, it will be cheaper to go with Edelbrock e streets. At that point, I would bump the cam up to a 284. Keeping in mind this is a street cruiser that will never see the track, does some 3 hour highway runs occasionally, and is a 4 speed car, what would your suggestions be? 452's and the 274 cam, or the e streets with the 284?

303 Mopar

I have Eddy's with a 282 Lunati cam on my 505 stroker and it really pulls hard.  Also a 4 speed with 3.23 gears.

You could look at the new Trickflow heads for more flow but there are money expensive.

If the rationale behind your consideration of building/porting the 452 iron's is to maintain a "stock" under hood Engine appearance ?
Then,
I would suggest the "Stealth" Aluminum Heads as a cost effective alternative, with better Flow right OOTB than the considerable investment in 452 Iron's

Regarding Camshaft selection using the Stealth's and the Comp 274H vrs 284H Camshafts ?
We did some R&D and Dyno testing on 440's using those Camshafts and ICON Pistons with the Stealth Heads, albeit, we did some extra prep and mild porting with the Stealth's, our results & Dyno Sheets can be found here:

Good luck with your build whatever you choose.
