Ok, I know good upper door bolsters are tough to come by, but not impossible... But, a private auction on used upper door bolsters in BLACK !!!?? I could understand a set of red or blue ones, but Black at $600 for two? As they say, if there's someone to pay, we're gonna play....... Weird that something like this was a "private" auction..........

Sheesh!  I just painted a nice black set of 68's with white to put in my 68.  Guess i should have sold them on ebay.

Are the upper door pads repoped or is it just the lower?

Just Dash will restore yours, but I'm not too impressed with theirs... I have a set I got with a bulk purchase of new interior parts for my '70 Charger. Now, Layson's has a sub-contractor working for them that "supposedy" restores them to the next level. I sent my upper door bolster to my '68 Hemi Charger R/T to "experiment"... Dave says they will come out better than Just Dashes... I haven't received it yet, but if it's nice, I told him I would spread the word like gospel... They are pricey though at approximately $275 per pad.....  I look forward in getting it back in order to post pictures of it.........

Makes me want to weld over the holes on the door & just paint it like all the other B-Bodies.  ::)  And to think I sold a mint set of 4 in black once at a swap meet for $75.   :shruggy:

I paid $75 for a nice passenger side upper pad about a year ago. For what Just Dashes charges for the mediocre results they produce I'm not surprised the prices are headed in this direction. I'm starting to wonder if it's foolish to leave our cars unattended at car shows now. :-X

Try being a "Dukes" fan:

The pads need to be a custom color right off the bat, and then when you climb in & outta the windows it ruins the finish on them very quickly!

My upper pads all around are fine (for a driver at least) That will be one of the last things I put money towards. Just wondering.. So are the lower pads repoped?

mikepmcs

I saw a front frnder for a 69 on there last week for $3500 starting bid and $3900 BIN.  Now that's crazy!!

Ya crazy, I sold a '70 Roadrunner trunk lid on ebay for $500.00 and I showed it as not perfect with a ding on the edge. I thought it would go for $125.00 max.
Here's the best part...I sold it because I found a better lid at the Spring Fling for $175.00 :icon_smile_big:

If by 'lower pads' you mean panels (ie. the flat, pressboard panels wrapped in vinyl) then yes. Door panels are for sale all over the place.

I was actually looking at buying those pads until the price went out of sight!  I need a good D/S pad and the one he was auctioning had a couple of pencil poke holes in it.  He emailed me pictures after I asked him about it.  Then I read his feedback and ran away screaming.  Looks like It's a good thing I did.   :o

Dang! I have a set of red ones. I wonder what they would bring?  I recently read another post about the hardest to find parts. The door pads were listed as one of the hardest items to find. I had no idea they were selling that high.

I do need a driver's side pad for mine if anyone is willing to part with theirs.  I really don't want to spend $300.00 though.  Checking his feedback he has had some strange dealings and it seems like his stuff always finishes astronomical.  Look at this 1970 woodgrain rallye cluster that went for almost $900.00 and it doesn't even have a tach or clock!   ::)  The pictures won't come up but come on.  Even with refinished guage faces I don't think it's worth that.  To add insult to injury the guy left him negative feedback because he said he paid for it and never got it.

Personally, I think there's something fishy with those ads/auctions... Prices way over the top it seems.. But, again, that's just me... Either that or this seller has a dead line to the big-pocket people.........

Read the guy's feedback and you'll see a lot of this after some pretty harsh complaints: "Rating Mutually Withdrawn: Buyer and seller mutually agreed to withdraw feedback for this item."
