So yea, that didn't take long. Ring is about a two and a half hour cruise. I went there with my buddy in a 65 impala. I've done over 100 laps around the ring, so I'm pretty familiar with the track. On sundays, it's a tourist day, so lots and lots of cars, and I had to keep to the right a lot. Also, I have drum brakes, which made this very difficult. M+S tires that have a high wall, and Auto tranny didn't help either. But overall I was very happy! I think with good brakes, good tires I could get this boat into low 10's. However, I wont be going there any time soon to attempt any records

That's awesome, the pics turned out great!

I can't imagine what 4 wheel drums must feel like on a road course. Much less the Nurburgring. (Nonexistent is my guess. )

yea, it's really bad, so I tried not to pick up too much speed so that I didn't have to brake. So, I was also running open headers (via cut outs) and it was just too loud lol

I forgot my go pro that day, my C7 has a built in PDR, so I'm not used to grabbing a go pro. But that's all I got...

It may not have been the fastest, but it was definitely the coolest car on the nurburgring that day!

Awesome video and beautiful car! I can't imagine what driving on Nuremberg would be like in a 68 charger. It must have been exhilarating to say the least.

Hell.....it frightened me braking a 911 turbo with ceramic brakes around there a few years back....(not as much as my 1989 Yamaha FZR1000EXUP did when I bought it brand new but even so!).......a full drum brakes car ?.....no thanks! So well done to you Sir. Low tens? Not in any b body charger I've seen......but it could be possible I guess...with lots of serious mods.

yea, the trick with this track is brake modulation. Once u become more familiar with the track, there aren't that many places that u need to brake (in a good car).

I think 10's are very realistic with good brakes, and good tires. I took my 76 633csi, and got a low 10 in it (and that is taking it easy last 1/5 of the lap due to overheated brakes).

Yes....but European cars of that era were designed to go around corners....US cars of that era (well 7 years older in this case) certainty were not. Many Euro drivers (myself included) would say that most US cars still don't corner the way us Europeans like a car to handle. This is the main reason that (before the latest Jeeps and the surprisingly successful 300C) sales of US built cars are almost none existent in Europe.....well that and the fact the the US cornered (pun intended) the market in ugly car design after about 73 to...well now....!...which is strange when you see how pretty lots were before then!
