So, being that Dad's birthday was just before Carlisle, I figured I would find something out at Carlisle for him to which he agreed.  Well, figuring that I might not find anything that he needed out at Carlisle, I came up with a contingency plan before hand.  I contacted Robert Kotan of JRK Illustrations, Inc about possibly making up a drawing of Dad's 69 GTX vert.  Here are the progress pics for everyone to check out.  I'm pretty sure Robert is done with it at this stage and am awaiting to see what it will cost to also have some shirts made up too as that is a service he also offers.

Drache,

I would check with Robert Kotan before you order anything but I think the price varies dependent upon size, original drawings vs. prints, color vs. black and white, etc.  For the 11 x 18 that I had done up for Dad, Robert I think usually gets around $300.  Again, double check with him for exact prices.

Thanks !  I'm very lucky to have such a good relationship with him.  If anyone will be at E-town this coming weekend, the surprise unveiling is going to happen there and the actual car will be there too.

Wow, that's impressive work! I'm sure he is going to love it.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Well, I managed to sneak it into the interior of his car when I was at E-town with him this past weekend.  He absolutely loved it.  I kind of threw him a curve by getting t shirts with the drawing on it and gave that to him and my Mom before we got to the track.  Little did he know that he was getting the actual drawing too.  Lots of compliments on the drawing which made it even better. :2thumbs:

Chris,

Since you were at E-town, how do you think the drawing held up to the real car?
