Thanks again tan top :2thumbs:

Actually I enjoy seeing pictures like this as much as I do seeing the finished car. ;)---I guess this might be the same sort of thing that slows traffic when there's a wreck out of the traffic lanes. :scratchchin:

This one is more complete than most and therfore more -completely -done/finished-. :D   If one gathers a tooth here and a bone there--poof-- the beast lives again.

Quotei actually cant believe I'm saying this but i wish cars like this would just get crushed and turned into a Hyundai

. . . and the next time you need a piece off an old Charger, you can get it from . . . a $35,000 restored car?

The reproduction parts industry still makes tons of stuff that is full-price and half-quality.
Buying all the little nuts & bolts hardware for a resto brand-new would add up to a fortune.
Sometimes you need a random chunk cut off a unibody for one reason or another.
People build tube chassis racecars and just need the roof & doorjambs of an old body.

IMO we still need the junk.  As much as we can get.

:2thumbs:  This car is toast as a car goes but it's a donor.

yes your correct in saying we need parts off junk cars but by the time this auction ends & the price it sells for this is no longer junk parts prices so the resale price of parts from this car will bring the parts inline with new parts.catch 22

No I wouldn't want this to go to the crusher, but I wouldn't pay $5000.00 for it either as it may go for that by the time the auction ends. Considering that this went for 9k anything is possible.

But the last time I checked they're not re-popping dash frames, seat frames, steering columns etc.  This is almost a complete car with lots of good parts on it. And that's not even knowing what the drive train is.

If I could get to my doorstep for 2k sign me up.

Give that car 3 gallons of (obvious) bondo & a tractor enamel paintjob, and everyone would have been bidding $15,000.  That was never a throwaway car.

Somebody will buy it. Then spend the next 10 years & $30,000 trying to restore it. Only to realize they are not even half done. Then throw it on ebay as a nice easy to finish Father & Son Project. How many times have we seen that. LEON.

"Uncommon to find such a workable project......"

I guess it is all in how you define "workable". There is certainly a massive amount of work required.

But I agree, it is far too useful to crush.
