K-frame has been torn before, right where the torsion bars go, and welded back together, should I replace it? I'll get some pics on that on.

Sub-frame. Passenger front, where ie meets the K-frame has been torn as well. Repair it? or replace? is it even repairable?

Thanks,
Shaun.

Looks like the car came down hard on the K-frame ??
or was hit side ways (sliding) :shruggy:
I would fix it and get another K-frame ,cut the lower half of the frame -get some 2x4 metal weld a new nut in ,cut channel and weld would look like nothing ever happened  :coolgleamA:
What the Hell-Dumass !

Okay,  need some updated opinions.
I'm finally attacking this nemesis,  and want to go about it the best way.

I found this,  and it's impressive. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,116416.25.html

But do I need to replace as much as he did? Or since I don't have rot, could I just patch it in a similar fashion?

Plus, I also need to make sure everything is plumb, and straight.  How can I check measurements?

On the frame rail, folks repair the their frames all the time on here like the thread you show.  Are you a good welder?  It needs to be a solid repair or you'll be back where you started.  I'm sure some on here can give good tips on frame rail repair.  For myself  (I've repaired my rears) you probably need to cut out a small section around the tear.  Say, half inch on each side, get some heavy gauge metal and make up a patch and weld it in place.  Got a pic of the K member?

That K-frame looks really suspicious.  If that specific area looks that bad then there may be more lurking where you can't see it.  I'd look for a replacement, they are out there.  Advertise on this site.

Here's one possibility...

In fact, here are a bunch....

Agreed.  I wouldn't even think about using/fixing a damaged K frame...

Awesome,  thanks guys. The rails didn't scare me as much,  but I knew that frame was sketchy at best.
Anyone know of one around the Tulsa area by chance?

Awesome.  Dumb question... are they different for small block vs big block?
I'm placing a 5.7 hemi in mine, and I assumed since my 440 had fit before,  it'd all be good
