How do you move your car body around the shop?

I'm getting ready to tear down my last 67 Charger project and I'm wondering what others use to move their stripped car bodies around the shop.  I like the US Car Tool dolly set up but I don't want to spend $400 plus shipping for a one time use.  Usually we've just kept the suspension under them but this car needs too much metal replaced.  I know there are guys here that have built something to safely do this.  I'm looking for some reasonable ideas or someone with something to sell.  Suggestions?

I like to keep my suspension on as long as possible & do metal work while sitting on wheels & suspension. Then put on Rotisserie later if Neccessary. Some people the first thing they do is put on rotisserie before they do anything else. I don't like doing that way but whatever works for you. I made a home made dolly for front end if I got the front Suspension removed. LEON.

P.S. Pic of dolly below.

I have a dolly for the front that attaches to the bumper bolt location. The front leg is straight down and the rear angles to it down about 18" off the floor.  Get nice big swivel casters. The rear end can be left in but I have a straight leg that goes down to a fixed caster as well. They attach to the front spring hanger.  I use them all the time. I have built several sets as I have more than one project at a time.

I have the pneumatic casters from auto twirler...they attach to the k frame area and at the rear shackles....

Chris (cbrestorations) made a set that's exactly like the u.s.cartool ones, to roll my charger around. You can see them in the pictures. He might make you a set if you ask?

Cutting out metal on a rotisserie not good.

Great minds think alike :2thumbs:

I agree.  I don't want to do that much cutting on a rotisserie.  Autotwirlers cost is about the same as US Car Tool, but their shipping quote was more than double.

FYI US Car Tool will have 3 sets for sale at Carlisle if you or a friend are going.
