Hello!

I am trying to put together my -68 charger, but i have noticed that the brackets for the trunk lid torque rods on my car seems to be different from you standard -68 -69?
I bought a couple of hinges and torque rods from ebay a long time ago, and it does not fit at all.

Research has shown me that this is not how your typical -68 brackets looks like, i did find one car that had the same, and from what i understood his was a really early -68.
Could it be, that rods from a -67 would fit?

Any ideas?

/best regards

And the picture!

These pics might help.

Pic 1. 1968 B Body build date 8-21-67
Pic 2. 1968 B Body build date 1-18-68

They look totally different between the two and both totally different from your pic. However pic 1 is a 1968 B Body 4 door and pic 2 is a 1968 B Body 2 door.

So I'm not sure if they differ from a 2 door to a 4 door but they definitely have an early vs a mid production spread.

Others may weigh in.

Yours don't look correct at all. I don't know what those came out of. AMD reproduces the factory style ones used on 68-70 Chargers.

Thanks for the input guys!

Found this thread, looks to have the same brackets as mine, really early -68, question is, what kind of torque rods will fit?  :scratchchin:

To be honest, the more i look at the silver car, i realise, i do not have that bracket thats on the hinge itself.. hm.
