Spotted this while disassembling my front brakes.

2 is better than 1, right? (Neither has a pin through it.)

Wow...that's a first. :eek2: I guess it worked though, looks like they have been there for quite a while.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

That second nut can't be engaging many threads.  If it works it works   :shruggy:

Time for front disk brakes right  :2thumbs:

The previous owner said the paint is about 12 years old, so it's survived at least that long.  Good enough is good enough!  :icon_smile_big:

Found a few other things they've painted over, too.  My favorite so far is a wasps nest in the pass. wheel well.  Is there a thread on hilarious, lazy, bodge finds?  I can imagine this group's seen more than a few over the years.

Working on my disc conversion now!  :2thumbs:

Double-nutting is a legitimate way to prevent nuts from loosening and the backup nut doesn't need many threads engaged to be effective. (think Palnut)
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

:2thumbs:  If a cotter pin is lost in the dirt a "jam" nut does the same thing. Been there and done that. ;D
