Following other members advise and looking for a complete charger rather than building it as it will cost me way more. I found this 68 charger with a 440 six pack, its a rt clone that has been restored. I would like to know your inputs on the car and also if the previous owner had documented his build in the forum or you've seen it somewhere else.

This is the car :

and a video of the car:

Thanks

I would not buy that car.

Is there something wrong with the car that I'm missing ?

hemi-hampton

Looks like it has the one piece molded in rear valance. I know that Dealer. the car should be looked over in person by a knowledgeable Mopar Person as many dealers are known to sell Perfume on a Pig cars. LEON.

I get a kick out of "complete no expense spared" restorations where they spend tons of money on everything but cheap out and used un-restored dash pieces that look like shit....

I asked Automobile inspections to inspect the car, the only Mopar people that i know of are this forum members and another forum. I didnt get the one piece molded in rear valance can you please clarify.

There is supposed to be a seam between the valance and the end caps....

I just saw it, thanks for the picture. Is it a preference/cosmetic thing or something else ?

hemi-hampton

It's just my opinion but when I see the ends or valance corners missing the 2 seam lines, to my that means the car is full of bondo & a low quality restoration was done. BUT, It's possible the owner of the car did it because he likes it that way or had the restorer do it for him because he likes that way but both highly unlikely. LEON.

It is a FACTORY thing !  They all came from the factory with the seam.  Welcome to the forum but, where are you located?  I would NEVER buy a car, especially that expensive, without a personal inspection.  If you do not know what to look for, take someone who knows MOPARS along.

That said, even if the Charger here is good to go, it is not worth $52,900.00  !!   It is a clone R/T car that needs a good inspection to even come close to that money. I am betting the dealer paid less than 30K for it. The last place to buy one is from a dealer.

I found about it 10 minutes ago when another member point it out. Thanks for welcoming me its a great forum that others have helped with my decisions. I'm from Kuwait, the car is getting inspected by Automobile Inspection and maybe a forum member as well. How much do you think its worth ? I know its a clone R/T but with the 440 six pack, paint job, frame up restoration.

The dealer stated that the car is rust and bondo free, or could it be that the dealer might be misleading ?

It is not bondo free if the rear valence seams are filled in

I was looking at that too. I just watched that video, the dealer doesn't know much about the car. He wasn't sure if the trunk pan was replaced and didn't even know if the blower motor worked until he made this video. To many red flags on this. Plus I've heard 6 packs are hard to keep tuned, so you'll have to deal with that.  :shruggy:
Price is to high for this.

I didn't know the price but if it's $52,000+ then it's way to much. And yeah, that 1/4 end cap piece fits like shittttt. From what I can see in the pics so far looks like a Earl Scheibed Perfume on a Pig. To me $30,000 more like it. $35k at most? Just my opinion, others may Vary. :shruggy: :Twocents: :scratchchin:  LEON.

Daytona R/T SE

"Complete Frame-Up Restoration" is impossible on a unibody car such as a Charger.  ::)

There are several signs of poor workmanship on this one.  :Twocents:

I wouldn't touch it.

VegasCharger

52K and NO wheel well trim??? Are they hiding the fact that they cannot mount the wheel well trim due to bondoed edges???

as Pink Floyd says "RUN RUN RUN RUN'

sorry man , I would  NOT buy this car ,  or at least  not  for the asking price ,  with many many things not right , makes you wonder what else is hiding under the shiny red paint ...
