I'm starting my Cluster Gauge Cluster Restoration.

I forgot to take a pic prior to disassembly.   But I remember when shortly after.

I want to be able to see my gauges at night but leave the cluster as original as possible.   I don't think I am doing LED bulbs.  I am interested in this thread.   http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,109441.0.html

Also interested in testing my gauges out of the car to test for accuracy.

FWIW, I swapped all the bulbs in my gauge cluster with LEDs. It was simple, straight forward, and absolutely worth every nickel. The gauges are very clear, bright, and in no way distracting (not too bright). I didn't make a single modification to anything to get it to work either. FWIW, I swapped all the bulbs in my gauge cluster with LEDs. It was simple, straight forward, and absolutely worth every nickel. The gauges are very clear, bright, and in no way distracting (not too bright). I didn't make a single modification to anything to get it to work either. Where did you buy the bulbs? How much to replace all the instrument cluster bulbs?

Maybe the LEDs I bought were crap.  I remember that they only work when inserted in the right way.  I think they were non-dimmable.  Also didn't fit properly.    These are the ones I bought.

Polarity matters with all LEDs so that's not unusual. Being dimmable is a feature that not all LEDs are capable of though. I find that the better ones usually are though. FWIW, the ones that I used are dimmable.

I don't like LEDs at all but in the dash they are stunning! I also installed them everywhere else in the interior. So much clearer, a deep blue and dim-able! I also ended up making some extra cutouts in the gauges by the way. Not as deep as the stock cutouts but damn did that make a difference!

I might have pictures of it, maybe in the diy voltmeter thread. I'll link it if I can find it.
