I pulled up some old information on swapping a 5.7 hemi into a big body. I was wondering what the current cost is.

The wiring harness is still expensive I believe. Engines have come down in price.

$1300 for the above link. Seems reasonable to me.

Cool! Too bad I sold the Hemi. A while back the only option was $2,500+.

I'm in the same boat. I only found the MEGASQUIRT option after talking with REDMIST about his EFI big block retrofit. I would have prefered to go with a GEN III Hemi. Oh well the 440 is already built and installed in my '69, and I do not have deep enough pockets to go back now.

I don't know why it's so hard to find information on these swaps. It seems like everything is top secret. I'd like to do a turnkey swap on mine with tranny instead of fooling with my 440 but I heard to make it work on my 70 Charger the K frame is in the way and I would need a $700 oil pan. $280 motor mounts $$$$ for the headers and then a harness???? Is it really worth it???

I see your point. However, in order to get good performance out of my 440 I had to:
-Aftermarket cyl heads-$1,000
-Port work on heads-$500
-speedpro bottom end rebuild kit-$800
machine work (short block)-$1,300
eddy intake-$280
Proform carb$500
ARP crank stud kit$ ????
aluminum water pump-$100
6qt HEMI oil pan W/pickup-$100
FIRECORE IGN set up-$420
cam, lifters, timing chain ect ect ect.

I totaled the build at roughly $6,000 dollars for a 50 year old engine. I am not sure if that was worth it but that is the route I went. I think it is a personal decision.

its really not hard to find information on it...    some of the other forums have dedicated 3G hemi swap sections. Autodynamics, I and others on this site have done this swap (back before parts were so readily available) - I totaled my entire swap in at well under $3500 - that included the engine.  :shruggy:
1968 Dodge Charger - 6.1L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.55 Sure Grip

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

1964 Dodge Polara 500 - 440 / 4-speed / 3.91 Sure Grip

1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye - 340 / A-518 / 3.23 Sure Grip

I've just decided to go ahead with a 500" stroker. I think that swap would be alot more user friendly but for me anyways it looks like a PITA LOL
