Opening the trunk lid must be fun.

What the heck is the nose seal made from?   It looks like electrical tape.

70 sublime

I hope there is hood pins on the trunk corners too

i dig it . the nose cone looks great . the wing is to narrow  but it is one of the nicest 70's wing cars i've seen

303 Mopar

I would like to see a pic with trunk lid open to see the wing mount?  And I wonder if it has engine temp problems?
1968 Charger - 1970 Cuda - 1969 Sport Satellite Convertible

Looks real good. Reminds me of the 1971 MPC model kit "option" to build a Bird.

I like the floor mats, but not the rusty speedo!   Never saw that before!  :shruggy:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Stevearino

I have seen this car before and I think that it is a great blend. Even better than what Chrysler had in mind for 71. I have always loved the sleek  70 Superbird nose and swept back wing and it works really well on this 71. And having seen some really ill conceived home grown 71 versions of a wing car this looks good to me. :coolgleamA:

tape is covering the body work where it's cracking due to stress, and 2 different material coefficients, but it's a decent build, very reminiscent of the MPC model kit build, with a little bit of work it would present it self very well

Chrysler had a series of nosecone configurations for the 71...I prefer the "minimum change" cone as it retains more of the 71 Plymouth body style treatments, but the 18" nose was considered, and is the optimum nose aerodynamically as proven in the tunnel

And that is really what it was all about. Not styling. I think if styling were the only consideration the wings would have been a bit lower too. I think if styling were the only consideration the wings might have been a lot lower too.

So many stories abound regarding the wings, one story,  the initial design the "squid tube" was set at the optimum height, but the designers that later developed the NASCAR required "street versions" of the wings raised it for trunk access consideration, then the recent story/interview the wings were set at that height because the engineers wanted it at that height and trunk access wasn't a consideration...hmmmm

Redbird

I like the 18' cone.

The MPC kit and the Minimum Change prototype have always seemed to me that they really need an outboard motor on the back to really complete the look.

Funny you say that, every time I looked at the minimum change nose, I always thought this:

odcics2

How'd the "aero front end" work in the tunnel?
That's the one that was modified from the front wheels forward.

It was cost prohibitive, for sure.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

500Jon

Works for me being a 71 Gtx owner!

Gas tank picture is a definite NoNo!!!
How could you sell a car with underfloor exit exhaust.....pointing at a leaking GAS-TANK? :brickwall:

THAT'S WHY WE HAVE AN 'MOT' TEST IN THE UK! :slap: :slap: :slap:

If the fumes don't get you, the FLAMES will.... :smilielol:

And whats going on with the rear brake PIPES???
IF A JOB's WORTH DOING, ITS WORTH DOING WELL, RIP DAD.
4-SPEED, 1969 Charger-500 is the most Coolio car in the World!
