Does anyone know of a source for these trim rings?  Does any one know how to have them recromed.  I believe they are plastic but could be potmetal.

$400+  not able to buy on my budget.  Thanks for the replay.

Having my originals done for $160 each. Not happy but better than repo crap.

Is this chrome on plastic or are the trims potmetal?

davidcam69

They are pop metal chromed over. The guy told me there was a lot of work in filling the pits and smoothing them out before they were ready to plate. I was concerned about warping, but said it won't be a problem.

Just 6T9 CHGR

Very hard to chrome correctly without losing detail on the part.  :Twocents:

Yeah, the metal has to have all the imperfections media blasted, filed, or sanded out before replating. They lose definition in that process.

Seems like the chrome should be repopped in chrome-plated plastic.

Not so sure about that. I think about the chrome plated plastic windshield trim on trucks and vans or even the headrest trim..it peels off in time. Stainless would be ideal if they could stamp it. Pop it on with trim adhesive.
