It looks pretty nice, but I don't think it's 85 large worth of nice. His ad is pretty vague and judging by the LF frame rail, it looks like it may have been on a frame machine.

Steep price in the current condition it is in.......

3:55 Dana?  :scratchchin:  The lower dash pad seems to not be installed correctly? that or is the glove compartment door open?

BLK 68 R/T

Possibly a frame machine, more likely it was probably towed at one time in its life and that is where the hook was placed. Would be hard to tell unless you could actually inspect the car in person.

It appears to have the typical center pad shrinkage. How it meets up with the glovebox door is the area where the shrink is most visible. It is worse on AC versions.

bigdsul

That's a high price considering the fact there's a 1969 charger 500 with a asking price of 69 thousand and that's a more desirable and rarer car than the white R/T

Originally from Denver...damn that could be my Uncles old car---he bought new.  Quote from an email from him:

"Chris, I don't have any pics they wound up with my ex.  I remember it was white with a tan hounds tooth vinyl top. Dont think it was a Hemi, it had the other big motor. Neat car."

Looks like that seller has a pile of paperwork too.   :scratchchin:

crj1968

Oh man-  that's it!  Sold to Jones Heartz lime company....that was my dad and Uncles old business.

Wow- that gives me the weirdies.  They had all kinds of stories about that car.

I found this a while back wondering if it was my uncles car- looks like it.  Ebay ad still has font California plate and rear Georgia plate.   :shruggy:

Yeah, it is the same. Even has the incorrect 1968 style grille paint with the vertical fines painted silver like the ebay car. And the California plate #'s match.

A great car, at too high of a price.

Knowing my dad and uncle, probably a hook and the other end was connected to a 1944 Ford GPW, that my brother has to this day.  :icon_smile_big:

That Charger spent a lot of time in the Colorado mountains...and saw a lot of salt rocked roads in Denver too.
If it was at $50K it'd be a real dilemma for me....at $85K I'm just happy to see it alive and well... right?  :scratchchin:

6bblgt

the old ad appears to be from 2011 (& central California) - asking price $25,000
the latest ad now in Georgia with the asking price at $85,000 - maybe a fishing expedition?
tell them your story & offer - maybe it's enough?

I think prices are up since 2011, but I'm not sure they are up that much  :shruggy:

fastmark

Well I can tell you from my perspective that prices are up. In 2011, I bought a couple of cars as projects. I just sold the second one last month for 12,000. It was a 68 383 4 speed. It needed total restoration but is a solid car. I just bought another one and have it spoken for. I doubt the prospective buyer would like for me to discuss the price here on the Internet, but I can tell you it is a rust free project car that has been in west Texas all its life and NEVER seen salt. It is a 69 R/T 4 speed. I doubt it will ever make it to eBay under my name. 69 chargers are the hottest thing going in mopars right now. Toss in the R/T and a 4 speed and you have a very sought after car.

crj1968

I have made contact with the seller via email- told him how my Aunt would get angry at my uncle and tear off in the car frying the tires for 2 blocks.

My dad and uncle couldn't believe how she could keep that car in a straight line.

Seller seems like a nice guy, I told him unlikely I could pull off buying it, but he emailed and said he would like to talk anyway.   :2thumbs:

Hopefully I can at least keep tabs on it, as maybe one day....

GOTWING

Classy looking car, ordered to not be to flashy. For $85k I want it loaded with every option with a hemi.  :eek2:

66FBCharger

That looks like a nice R/T. Maybe the 85K is the asking price figuring people will offer less and he'll get what he originally wanted?
I love the white with tan interior. I would love to have that car sitting in my garage next to my EW1 with saddle interior '70 6 BBL road runner!
IMO 85K is way too high, though they could have a bunch of money in the resto.

Yeah, I know. I did contact my Aunt about 20 years ago and asked her about it. She had sold it about a year earlier....so I missed it. But I knew it was out there somewhere.

Here was my old post looking for it....

My Uncles email response.   :icon_smile_big:

SHIT!!!  I can't believe you found this.  Really COOL.  Thanks for sending it.  Had a lot of work done to  it since I had it.  Vinyl top looks different...used to be a hounds tooth design.
Last time i saw was just B4 I got divorced.  From looking at the title I must have done some creative stuff to save city tax and maybe a write off for the company.   Brings back some old memories.   WOW!!!!!!!!    unk   ken

I know his memory isn't what it used to be, but hounds tooth top?   :scratchchin:

Now if I can just talk him into to buying it.   :icon_smile_big:

Yeah- I can visualize the brown/tan houndsooth he is referring to but I think it was the upholstery in his mom's (grandmas) Ford something or other.

Cncguy

I can see where the frame may have been straightened, but that is one beautifully optioned Charger.
