Usually I'm all about saving them, but that one would be like buying an axe and replacing the handle and the head...

The bidding is up to 2 grand and there's not 50 bucks worth of parts on it. Whoever buys has as bad visions of grandeur than the seller did when he bought it.   :smilielol:

I knew Charger prices were ridiculous but jeez.... :faint:

This would be perfect for the Fast and Furious movie builders. Who would care if they cut this one up to drop the skin over another chassis.?

people who get into this hobby thinking they are gonna make money don't realize buying a 2nd gen charger will swallow your wallet and not even burp.  They think oh it just need sheetmetal and we can double the profits then realize a 2nd gen costs 2 to 3 times more than a chevy or ford to build and then try to sell it off to the next sucker.....HENCE why even ford and chevy guys admire the 2nd gen its a RARE car to see indeed.

Was it parked in the Dead Sea?

Could this just be a --sub-- market in the hobby we are looking at?

A whole group of speculators that sell to each other?---I found some rust and it's for sale.

The next owner quickly finds themselves in a place where the only place to go is to sell to another rust buyer.

Just another way to enjoy owning a charger I guess. :slap:

Frankly speaking  I would rather have a wall size picture of a charger to enjoy rather than something like this to deal with in my yard. :shruggy:

That's a pretty good idea you got there.

Now if only our home owners association would let us do this...

$2000 and not even a VIN or title with it.

There's something funny going on here.  Chargers are expensive but this is off the map.

I can see a potential use for it.  The buyer could put it in their yard and cover it with a tarp.  You would be amazed to see how much attention that it would bring just like that. :smilielol:...

I think this has more to do with the price than anything

Every first time Charger owner has to start someplace
$2000 is not a big price to pay if you learn you need to find a better car and just use this one for bits and pieces then sell it off when you are done with it to the next learner new guy

I thought mine was getting near unsalvageable (luckily 70Sublime found it when he did  :2thumbs:), but this one I think has reached that point of no return. Are those steel pipes holding up the back of the car because the frame rails are gone?

Yeah, looks like it might be hardware store electrical conduit pipe.

I wonder if this actually is the Fast/Furious bunch bidding.  They are filming right now.  Somebody must need a Charger body pretty badly.  They put this big bid up with 4 days to go on the auction.  $2000 is a lot for a body shell with no VIN, no title, and no lower half.

Either that, or maybe the seller has some shills working for him.

Looks like the same condition as the car I've getting parts from for the past four years at Jimmie's farm. It was a green 68   :smilielol:
