Ravelco has a great reputation for keeping trucks from being stolen down here.  It is not an alarm system but just an electronic system designed to disable your vehicle unless you have the unique sixteen pin cap for it.  Do you think in would work on our Chargers as well?

It might work . . . if the thief had intended to drive the car away under its own power.

Lots of pro thieves will just show up with a rollback tow truck & drag it up the ramp.  You can't beat a truly determined pro thief with anything.

1/2 inch breaker bar works good for beating thieves...

All jokes aside cameras and so on are at least some good.

The 1/2" breaker bar is a great idea if you catch them in the act. :2thumbs:

Yes, I was thinking it would work if someone tried to drive it away but Mike DC. you are right about a rollaway!  At least they would have a hard time starting it wherever they took it!

I don't know, maybe a GPS tracker system as well would be needed.

My Charger is always in a closed and locked garage with a 3/4 ton Dodge truck parked very closely behind it. The thieves would have to figure out how to move the truck before trying to steal the Charger and my neighbors all would be watching and calling the "PO-PO" to end the party. My neighbors all know the Charger and how I would NOT get it out of the garage at any time if I wasn't visible and helping, much less, the middle of the night!

Maybe a revelco on my truck would be the answer!

Swap the coil wire with a plug wire and hope they don't show up with a rollback.

Trust me, if your car was "ordered/required", another vehicle blocking access, locked doors, guard dogs, you standing there with a gun, etc would not deter a professional from obtaining it....DAMHIK

Anti theft devices only deter or slow down amateurs

Had to Google DAMHIK.  Sounds like bad news Day Clona.

Oh, I am sure thieves could find a way to steal it if they really wanted it.  That is what insurance is for.  I am pretty confidant I can make it take a little longer and be a little harder than they would like!  A night-time job with me here would most assuredly end up deadly for someone.  This is Texas, you know!

I've lived in the same home for almost 40 years and most of my neighbors are long-time residents that know me very well. Anything going on like moving cars around and a wrecker's presence would definitely draw unwanted attention from them and a visit from the Po-Po as they patrol my neighborhood 24/7.  They would be here in just a couple of minutes, max.

99.99 percent of vintage car thefts are via rollback or the steal the car and your trailer.

charge69

I understand but, they will have to "rollback" my 3/4 ton Dodge Quad Cab Truck first or start it up somehow to get to the Charger.  Them break into the garage and lift the door. I, also have another vehicle parked next to the truck that would probably have to be moved. Usually, if we are home, another car will be in the driveway blocking both other vehicles in. Then they might have access to the Charger and, by then, either I or the Po-Po will greet them.  At least I hope so !  If all else fails, I have an agreed-upon insurance policy with Hagerty!

Brock Lee

Yeah, they will just tow it. And if they wanted to drive it, the ignition circuits in these cars is so ridiculously stripped down and simple, they can locate and  bypass anything you add in minutes.

charge69

Yeah, I assure you it will not be as simple as just towing it.  Better pray I am not home as I am a very light sleeper and a few other vehicles would have to be moved just to get to it. All precious time for me to discover them or the neighbors to see it and call the Po-Po.  I would miss it but Hagerty's would take care of me. I have it insured for way more than I have in it.

Brock Lee

I never considered at home security. I leave mine in the garage when it isn't driven. I would assume that the real threat is while out with it. Go into a place and have it out of sight..
