I was watching a collection of old X-file tapes, the ones with the Japanese hybrid people...anyway when the show ended did they go through  what the REAL conspiracy was?  I used to watch it in the 90's but then it grew stupid and I didn't care about it anymore. So was it a space alien conspiracy or what?

I don't think they ever did.

After season 4 we quit watching it all the time, but the fifth one had a few good episodes.

I'm not totally sure what you're asking but I'll try to answer what I think you're asking. The Smoking Man was in charge of the human conspiracy to either give or return Earth to the aliens that inhabited it eons ago. Did you see the X-Files movie? It answers a lot of questions. Part of the problem is the conflict the Fox network had with David Duchovny making it difficult for them to wrap the series up with a solid conclusion but the gist of it was that the aliens wanted Earth, the Smoking Man was helping them take over and Fox Mulder and Dana Scully kept putting it to a stop. Plus there were a lot of other crazy things they had to investigate too. Does that answer anything?

OK, I copy bull thanks, that answers it.

So did the series END with a final episode with like, the space aliens taking over or did it just fade away?

The series kind of petered out but they did have a final episode where Mulder returned and the Smoking Man was killed or died (supposedly). But it didn't do a good job of tying up the loose ends. The episode just never made much sense to me other than the bad guy getting his due. But there is always someone to take his place. You know how X-Files was, they never really concluded anything, there always seemed to be a loose end dangling out there somewhere.

Is that the episode where the Lone Gunmen died?

No, in fact they had their own spinoff series for a short while. It tanked.

I heard at one time they were to produce a second movie.  I wish they would.  Ahhh, the good old days.
