$6000 core charge?

As in, you have to bring them back another wasted Hellcat motor like it?

That means it's really a $25,000 crate motor.

myk

If Gas Monkey Garage had that much difficulty transplanting a Hellcat engine what am I going to do with one?  Pass lol...

they are the only ones charging a core charge  ::) other places sell it to you outright for 18k....just trying to make extra money.

There was so much involved in a transplant it was ridiculous they edited it out.....Aaron on gas monkey did the fab work and then gave it away for the all electrica work which was a major nightmare.  roadkill tried to explain how hard it was, but was not worth it they even said way too much work involved....

Which brings us back to your LS engines thread....

The best bet (for running a Hellcat motor) is probably to run aftermarket electronic controls.  I dunno how much BS that involves.

If the past is any indication then Mopar itself will never lift a finger to make the swaps any easier.

redmist

Megasquirt could make it run no problem.

If'n someone was willing to do it.
JUNKTRAVELER: all I've seen in this thread is a bunch of bullies and 3 guys that actually give a crap.

not to discourage others to do it though, but one guy on facebook did it to his dart, but he wouldn't disclose the total cost to do the conversion which means, 'too much money'

SRT-440

Getting the motor in isn't a big deal and will use the same motor mounts and the block is the same as any gen 3 block. Several shops have done this swap and FAST XFI and Holley EFI will control it and is easily tunable.
Other than the cool factor, you can make more power with a stroked 6.1 with a supercharger for less money..a 426 gen 3 Hemi will put down 500 rwhp.. supercharged 650+.

just not as good as efficient as say a gen 3 hemi such as a hellcat though....can you imagine getting 13 to 19mpg driving unless the MPG is based on the tall rear end hellcats have 2.62???  Most of us have a 4.10 or 3.23?
