Trunk hinge bolt, bracket, nut ??????

I don't know what to call this part, but my 68 was missing them when I got it. The deck lid was just laying on the back. I've found a few on ebay, found a few here in town but I figured, why buy them when I could make them.

I have plane to make complete aluminum hinges but for now I need to bolt on my deck lid to line up the quarters. So this is was I came up with.

What was missing.


Put in a scrap piece of 6061-T6


15 minuets later I have one side done.


Flipped it over, just need to drill and tap for keenserts.


Drilled and tapped.


Keenserts installed.

It fits, has room to move around for adjustments. Now I can put on my deck lid.
