Is anyone able to decode my fender tag for me ? I did try on one of the decoding sites but a lot of them were not recognised, also the engine code doesn't seem to be on there ? Thanks

birdsandbees

Most decoders should have done that for you. Out of my head...

It's a 383 HP (E63) car.. Automatic (D32).. built June 2nd in 69.

White body (W1).. white top (W1) .. black bench seats (H2X).. black upper door panel (X9)

595 = 3.23:1 suregrip w/11" brakes

926 = 383  + automatic

285266 is your VIN #

Yes but I mean the H that is on the vin is not on there

Alaskan_TA

It is a Lynch Road tag, so that is normal.

Yes but I mean the H that is on the vin is not on there

The H in the VIN and the E63 sales code only tell you the car received a 383-4bbl. The do not tell you which assembly the car received.

Lynch Road tags coded differently. The good thing about the LR tag is that it tells you EXACTLY which engine assembly came in the car. Other plants do not code the assembly on the tag. In your case, the car received the 926 engine assembly = 383-4bbl 335 horse B body assembly designed to be used with an automatic transmission (93 on the tag indicating the 093 HD transmission).

So the "H" is not on the tag. You have something a lot of folks don't have and that is fender tag acknowledgement of which assembly the car received.

What are M31 "Belt Mouldings" ?

Those are the exterior stainless mouldings at the base of the door window opening & rear quarter window opening.  They curve up in the back corner of the rear quarter window, to connect with the M21 roof drip rail mouldings.

Looks like you have the balance of the tag decoded pretty much OK.  Nice car & option combo.
