so I found a 727 torqueflight here are the numbers below that I can see on the side stamp  :popcrn:

3736143 M 4449 3258

Does anyone know how to find out what it was in or the year of it. There is a slim chance it could be out of a 69 Satellite 383 4bbl car that used to sit on the same property. :scratchchin:  :-\

:2thumbs:

3736143 = part number (application??)
M = ?
4449 = 10/2/73 assembly date
3258 = unit number

is there a partial VIN on the other side?

GOTWING

We looked briefly but if it's a 73 that rules out it being to the 69 that was on the property.

No 3736143 listed but 3736148 is from a '74 D100 or D200 with a 400 or 440.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Is there a book or website with this information.  I have a bunch laying around that I would like to identify/sort.

there are many sources for this info: shop manuals, Chrysler parts catalogs, HOLLANDER interchange manuals, etc.

..... but IMO the most concise collection of this information as needed for a musclecar era MOPAR enthusiast is available in Galen Govier's series of "WHITE BOOKS"

from the source - http://galengovier.com/gts-home/products/white-books/

currently listed on eBay - http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=govier+galen&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XGalen+Govier.TRS1&_nkw=Galen+Govier&_sacat=0

It's definitely a number three  :eek2:

OK, I found it:

3736143= '74 truck, 440 medium extension housing, rear timing. (hole in top of converter housing)

I have put together an album on Photobucket with most numbers from '64-'86.
