Yup. Orientals are not known for their driving skills and that's an accident waiting to happen.

Brought back a memory of being driven through cities in china with buses simply honking and driving.  I was told they need to be on time and if they honk it means make way or they will push you out of the way.  3 and 4 lane changes  in bumper to bumper with the cars, bikes, motorized contraptions squishing every which way to avoid getting crushed. All this was so the bus could for get to what might have been a bus lane (or to drive down the opposite side against oncoming traffic) If that bus in the picture didn't have to change lanes then it would work very well.  They weren't the only ones, I also saw traffic turn around on a divided highway and start driving the other direction because of a traffic jam.  It was a surprise because we encountered cars going the opposite direction before we actually had stopped.  I did not have the skills to drive there, and I was told that the guys we had driving were trained drivers .  It is an incredible, and strange place, and they have.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Right and left turns onto intersecting streets, driveways, etc. should be interesting. Could be fodder for a new TV show.

That's not a bus - it's a tram. But yeah, I can see all sorts of issues with people trying to turn about the time that thing comes over them.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Huh, I'm pretty sure that's the dumbest thing I've seen this week.  :image_294343:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Lighthorseman

Yup.  Can't possibly imagine anything going wrong with that brainwave.  :rotz:

It might be nice if they paint teeth on it like the A-10  :yesnod:

The problem is if you miss your bus, in 30 minutes you will be hungry again.
