Hi guys!

I'm looking for a GoPro camcorder and I was wondering why such a huge price difference between the 3 and 4.
Know nothing about them and I guess it's like iPhone4 and 5-6,where 4 is good but 5 and 6 way better!
What's up with the black and grey version?Apart from the colour is there any differences?
I'm just looking for something to shot some nice quality short movies of my charger and my Ducati. So guess GoPro 3 would be good enough? Can you edit them or need a program to do it on my pc?
I'm sure lots of you are using them so if you could share some of your opinion I'd be grateful!

Thank you!

The largest difference between the Hero 3 Silver and the Hero 4 is that the 4 can shoot in 4k (super SUPER high definition). As such the Video Bitrate for the 4 is over twice as good as the 3 Silver. Depends on if you want professional quality 4k High Definition or you are fine with standard 1080p high definition.

As for the 3 Silver vs 3 Black, the Black version is slightly better than the silver version in quality (it can shoot in 4k Definition) but doesn't have AS good of Video Bitrate as the Hero 4.

Like I said, do you just want standard quality 1080p or would you rather spend more for the National Geographic quality 4k  :2thumbs:

National Geographic means naked boobs so go with 4K...

I thought you had to have a 4K tv to really benifit from a 4K go pro. A regular tv with 1080p doesn't have the ability to display 4K, so why get a 4K go pro, or am I thinking about it wrong? I guess you can upgrade later.

No that's right.  But, 4K, just like plasma and LCD/LED, is becoming more affordable these days and will soon become the new standard...

Like Myk said, 4K TVs are dropping in price every day. 4K also comes in handy if you ever plan on using a projector on a large screen/wall.

But yes, as it stands 4k is just a nice "feature" that 90% of the people don't need at this time.
