Hemi 69 charger ? what a ripper whats the reserve  :eek2: i picked a couple of things on a quick inspection .the lead line on the roof join and the paints a bit pearly and the door gaps are a bit large for my liking but i'm getting a bit fussy in my old age maybe other wise looks like a good starting point for someone that hasn't got the skills or is it ?.wish my car was at this stage but

Seems like I remember this same car, in the same condition, being for sale several years ago. :scratchchin:

But it's still missing the triangle pieces of steel near the ends of the frame rails. I smell a rebody.

could it be an original car but if it is the carsibarns hemi charger as suggested that car has the factory trunk pan and rail delete option  :hah: looks pretty far gone to me and maybe just maybe the original hemi tell tale signs were rusted away beyond recognition   and who ever restored it  never replaced the torque boxes etc  :scratchchin: :shruggy:

I really doubt this is an original hemi but, I'll leave a little room for doubt by myself.

Here is a shot of the underside of my car getting ready for a little "rear wheel well" surgery! Note the pinion snubber area!

The second shot is of the Charger on the rotisserie getting the outer wheel well surgery!

I don't get it....why wont he finish it?  saids it be worth over 150k plus when done.

Who knows ?  Maybe this is as far as his money can take it !   Lots of money left to spend to get this up and running !

Risk it all with a boat trailer?

Well, the wreck in the picture does have power disc brakes and manual steering and the car on the boat trailer has holes for the sill moldings. Plus, since there are no frame rails left, that would explain the (once) missing torque boxes and still missing rear frame rail gussets. Both cars are column shifters as well.

Referencing the last photo in reply #13, is that just the sheet metal overlap in the left tail light opening, or a lot of filler?

looks like seam sealer to me if I'm looking at the right spot  :scope:

never noticed this the first time around ,  :slap:  , just realised ,  think unless the rear shock absorber  cross member has been changed  , the one on there looks like a 68 D series to me  ,  ie with all the other stuff missing & or been added in one picture etc , maybe its a 68 body shell  :shruggy:

did have a lot of good detailed pictures saved , on the subject , but lost the lot when computer blew up few years back .
best way I can describe it 68s  have a semi circle , shape to the cross member  between the two upper shock bolt holes ,   69s do not  .  well all the ones ive seen ,  unless it was just  different  plants stamping etc  ,

maybe its the same deal as the inner rear valance  , some chargers have a round hole  in the centre others have a oval   :shruggy: :scratchchin:

also could be a lot has been changed on this car due to rust and not much thought put into what went back on  :shruggy: as myself i would not know half of what you guys know

found a good picture of a 68 , for reference .

I find it hard to believe , any good body guy / resto shop , would restore a Hemi body shell & leave off all the hemi specific parts .

original advert , NO torque boxes , now fitted
NO pinion snubber reinforcement plate
NO rear spring shackle perch , reinforcement plates

also from what I can see has  other  Hemi only  strengthening  pats missing,

Or maybe he's just tired of working on it & wants his garage space back. :shruggy:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
