Brake Valve Question 69 with bendix

I couls really use some help...I have my old brake lines and seam to have a mystery valve next to my Prop valve on the inlet side.  Has anyone ever seen this valve before?  I was wondering if someone put it in afterwards because the old prop valve wasn't working?  Please look at the close up pic.  Also in the second picture you can see the prop valve and distribution block and then the lines go up to the master cylinder.  I see in the parts catalogs mention of a metering valve but I don't think mine has one.  Is that possible?  I thought maybe this was the metering valve but it doesn't look like any I've seen and I can't find a picture that looks anything like this one.  The car did come with the towing package could it be related to that?

I'm not a brake expert so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure what the small brass block is, but the larger one is correct  for disc brake cars. There should be a strap to hold it to the frame.

Thanks Mytar... I appreciate the feedback

Does anyone know if it has to have a metering block? or could it have come from the factory without one?

Thanks again...Brian

Just went through this with mine. The large distribution valve is correct and the small "Texas" shaped valve is correct for 69. The little one is something that was added.

The brass block isn't factory, probably added as a tap-off for something.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks guys...

John, You show a picture with a combination valve but it is different than what I have.  Is it possible that I not need a metering valve?  :shruggy:

Thanks...I wish I had the rest of my brake lines but that body shop threw them out...  :brickwall:

The early '70 pic I posted is to show the shape/location of the prop valve. Not necessarily correct for your car.

BTW, a combination valve has all three elements in a single housing.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks John...I really appreciate the help!
