Loosing my cool with fan issues and a new A/C system..HELP!

In mocking up my new A/C compressor it's clear my old aftermarket flex fan will not work, the blades extend back too far. (It sits too close to the rad. to move out enough.) In reading on the topic I see clutch type factory fans have fitment issues and I can not find much info on direct drive fans so I'm thinking electric fans may be the best option?
Anyone used an electric fan set they really like? My Denso can handle the extra draw no problem so it may be time to just do it.

Neil in case you don't go the electric fan route, I'm running a parts store 6 blade fan with the Jaguar clutch because I too had a flex fan and limited space, and this setup fits like a glove.   :yesnod:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Yeah the Hayden 2765 or something like that.  Low profile and fits perfectly.  I've been thinking about an electric fan setup also, but I like the mechanical fan for increased reliability;  I'm not a fan of electronic over mechanical on some things...

Thanks guys. I've started looking at electric fans as the best option for all this Florida heat!  :eek2:

Actually now that I'm looking at it I think my fan sits too far back from the radiator, lol...

My direct drive stainless bladed flex fan worked flawless for 21 years. It's so darn big the blades sweep back into where the compressor now sits so it's gotta go.
Looking at how much air both types of factory fans can move and thinking of heat/traffic for my area A: The clutch type will be constantly hot and be engaged. B: They both will be spinning slow when I need the most air moving...at idle.   :eek2:
It never mattered before, the engine got what it needed in all traffic with the flex. Now I've blocked air flow with a condenser and A/C efficiency is effected by air flow to also.  :scratchchin: So that's my thinking...a badass electric fan setup could kick in at full run even at idle.

I've got a SPAL electric pusher fan that sits on the outside of the radiator.  It pushes 3000cfm and my temp sits at 205 all day in traffic.  Would leave you plenty of clearance on the inside.

The Rainbow fan is working well so far, running about 180* with A/C on in 90* traffic.  :2thumbs: Good testing coming in the next few months when it gets even hotter.  :scratchchin:
