Look at http://www.mymopar.com/6971opcodes.htm for the option codes.

The xp29 I scharger
H9B is engine, year, plant where it was made
the 119... is the serial number - related to the number of cars made at the plant (not all chargers)

The 831 is a date (I can never quite get clear what this is (I assume assembly date, but it may be another date).
The next numbers are an order number of some sort

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

L31 ?

Just 6T9 CHGR

Tag looks totally legit to me....all codes in order

L31 (Hood turn signals) were optional  (standard with A47 SE Package) :Twocents:

"B" in the VON (B02501) means that it was a Canadian Export built car....

I think the issue with the decoders I found online is that the lower body color (F5) and upper body color (F5) are on the same line.  It can be simpler to look up the option codes on a list.

The colors are stacked on two separate lines and EF8 (2 letters one number) for my 1970, but it was made at a different plant, too.

I also found this page http://andy440.com/tag1.htm that is specific for 1969 and shows the F8 F8 on the same line.
