So, I've got a '69 Charger with a 440/727.  I've got the black, Mopar Performance cast aluminum valve covers.  I knocked out the knock out on the right hand cover to put in a pcv valve, and installed a baffle.  I bought the supposed correct grommet as part of a set from Summit.

It was very tight to install, and the valve was very tight to install into it.

Yesterday I started my engine for the first time since I rebuilt it 8 plus years ago.  As soon as it started the pcv valve popped out.  It pops out every time the engine starts.

Anyone know where I can get a pcv grommet that's 1 1/16 outer diameter and 5/8 deep that will fit the knock out hole?

I wouldnt use the knock outs. I would run a twist style pcv in the front hole.

That ship has already sailed, knock out is knocked out...   :coolgleamA:

You may laugh, but I found the the grommet that goes in a hatch glass for the rear wiper to come through works perfect. . 05 caravan.

My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Just make the hole in the valve cover a little bigger. That's how I did my m/t valve covers. Just go slow and do a little at a time.  :2thumbs:

Don't tell anyone but I used a ford grommet for cast valve covers and it is working great. ;)

Had this exact same problem and scoured the forums for a while without finding an answer so posted a thread - someone suggested some Ford grommets and the Summit PCV and they worked perfectly! Highly recommended.

Yeah, those work great...if you put them in the oil cap holes.

I found a temporary solution by forcing the one that's suppose to be the breather grommet into the knock out hole and then buying a bigger pcv valve and sticking in there.  Not a perfect fit (still had to put a little tape around the outside of the pcv valve, but it will work for now...

Ah whoops I glossed over the knock-off hole part in your original post - I left my knock-offs intact.
