Hello I was going over the window sticker for my bird and it turns out to be a company car.
The codes I am interested in are
Y21 Special Headers & tag instructions
Y28 Company car
y39 Special Order

Ship to is cartaret marshalling center
1000 blair road
cartaret NJ.

the vin is RM23UOA178644
the car was later sold at
smithtown chrysler plymouth
463 E Jericho turnpike
smithtown ny 11787

The car is an EK2 440 4barrel 4 speed.

Anyone out there able to make heads to tails about this car.
or what interest chrysler had with cartaret marshalling center

Any help or info would be great Thanks

Is there a persons name & another VIN printed near the bottom?

Arnie Cunningham

There was another thread that talked about the Special Headers reference.  I think it has to do with paperwork and not the exhaust system as a motorhead would conclude.

t r nicoletti

VIN & name.

The VIN is from the car that company employee T. R. Nicoletti was to turn in when he picked up the Superbird.

The 'Special headers & Tag instructions' meant the headers at the top of the window sticker ( ship to & sold to addresses different) & that note with the name & the VIN for 'instructions'.

It would be cool to see a scan of it.

Maybe try searching that Italian last name Nicoletti in nj or ny maybe find a family member

I need to get the paperwork copied so I can review it more. I hate handling the original paperwork. When I get some time I'll make some copies and figure out how to post it.

can you share the date & route (shipping) #s on the bottom before the final price

curious to see how old the Superbird was when it became a company car, it appears T.R.Nicoletti already had a 4-dr for the winter months  :shruggy:

Is Brennan's site down?  I went to look when this car was at Clairpointe, and couldn't find it?

It should've been completed during the first ~10 days of December 1969,
then sat around a holding lot (3+ months) until T.R.Nicoletti had need of a new "company car" being shipped to a "marshalling" yard in NJ late March/early-April 1970,
then the Superbird was sold as a used car less than 3 months later in June of '70 .....

wonder how long it sat as an available "USED CAR"?
any motor-sports/car show type events going on near Cartaret, NJ/Smithtown, NY April-May 1970?

When was the 1970 New York Auto Show??  Wasn't there an orange Superbird there?

In looking at the window sticker, I thought it was funny that at the end of the line that says 440 4 bbl. it has TNT. Wasn't that a Chrysler name for their 440 4 bbl. 375 HP?

I don't know if the car in the auto show picture is it. I have some pics of it in 75 with white Plymouth decals on the rear.

chaaargerb

The car did have the left rear quarter replaced by the dealer in 74 before that picture was taken. Maybe they didn't have black decals or ordered white by mistake

Alaskan_TA

Highly doubtful that a car assigned to a regional sales manager as a 'driver' would be used as a show car anyway.

Absolutely correct.   Like the #6 Baker show car Daytona, the Vitamin C Superbird that was on tour would have traveled and been stored with all the other exhibits when not on display.
