hey all I'm look at buy a new mechanical fuel pump no particular brand  for my 440 but i notice most vendors list 1968 pumps not fitting 69 are these different in anyway or both the same  :shruggy:

BLK 68 R/T

The actual pumps are the same, the difference comes in the inlet/outlet fittings. IIRC 68 440 cars used a 5/16 fuel line, only Hemi received the 3/8 line in 68 unlike the 69 and up which switched to the 3/8 line on the 440/Hemi.

I just went through a fuel pump swap on my 70.  BSB67 suggested the following pump as a replacement for the stock unit.

I bought one, and it is a nice unit  that is rebuildable and in my opinion worth the added expense.  Fittings are needed to adapt to hose barb or others.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
