OK, more questions:
1. i mocked up the front sway bar, of the guys who has installed these did you weld your brackets. looks like mine might line up with factory holes, but the instructions say to weld. its the hotchkis front. it says to wait till the car is on the ground anyway, still have a ways to go.
2. the bearings for the hubs come with new races, but the hub has some in it already. should i just remove those and use the ones that came with the bearings since i know they match them?
3. whats the best method to removing them, i used to use a punch and hammer?

Pics of bearings races and the bearings i greased with the new ones

I did not weld my sway bar brackets in the front, just used the hardware that came with the Hotchkis set up.  And you can install the bar with the car of the ground.

Sorry, I thought your meant the other brackets.  Yes, those do get welded on.  Yes, I have the same kit from Hotchkis and the end bar looks like a frown.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Huh.  Mine's right side up.  But.....I'm guessing it can go in either way?  More reading ensues!

I read where it goes either way, but it has a better chance of dragging the ground if it is smiley face and not frown face.

Luke, are you replacing/upgrading the steering box?

No sir. Not at this time. Never thought about it. Power steering works fine for me right now. Haven't really investigated benifits either.

I welded mine, leave the races in the hubs, be sure & pack grease into the bearings, not just smear them with grease.

I packed them using the method of putting grease on my hand and using a smash and rake method of pushing grease in everywhere.

I got the rotors greased and bearings and installed on the spindles. But I ran into an issue, I can't get the dust caps to fit all the way. There's a small gap on one side and if I tap on that side it pops the other side out. I tried lining it up and using a dead blow to hit it on at the same time, but no matter how hard I hit it it doesn't go fully on. Both sides are doing it. I tried to remove the pin, nut, and bearing and start over, but it still wants to stick out. I'll post pics tomorrow to show you guys. Anyone ever have this issue. I've done tones of disk brake and bearing jobs on an old 84 ford I had and never had issues with the dust covers. And my trailer as well. Something so simple giving me crap

i cant wait to drive it to feel the improvements. but more questions first. lol

I put on the calipers last night and plumbed them. my question is in the second pic, where and how does all that stuff go. i realize the bolts and washers hold it on, but the rubber band things and not sure which way the other stuff goes. FSM wasn't much help on this. anyone with this set up help, maybe shoot a pic. thanks.

The rubber bands go in the garbage, the copper washers go to the banjo heads to the hose...one on each side of each assembly so 4 used on front end. the bolts and plates hold the caliper to the slider.

Derwud

Something is wrong.. Those are the earlier calipers... Pin style. Those plates aren't used with those calipers.
