Hunting for leaks

I'm currently hunting down a few leaks on my -68 Charger. When examining the seal which goes on the A-pillar and along the roof line, I found it odd that the cut-out in the seal wasn't aligned with that tab in the channel run. I suppose it should be, and that someone simply didn't install the seal correctly. I don't see a purpose of that tab, besides being used as a guide for placing the seal correctly in the channel. Anyone got a clue?

I don't know why the tab is there but I guess it keeps the seal in place with temp changes. Yeah the tab needs to be in the notch.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Yeah, that confirms my thought. I will reinstall them and align them properly. Thanks!!

Adding info to this thread... I suspect I have a leak in the windshield driver side lower corner. Haven't removed the trim before, so... What is the best way to do that? Don't want to risk damaging the trim, clips or paint...
