I have uni-lug Western Dish mags on my Charger. No problems at all with them.

I have unilug Vectors. No problems and they have been on a year now. I also made sure I had the particular lug nuts they required. I have been told the probl;ems happen when people use the wrong style lug nuts for their application.

Ghoste

I've heard the same thing (about using the wrong lug nuts).

I have uni-lug Crager SS wheels on my car.  Personally I like the looks of them.  But can't stand taking them on and off.  The last two were correct about needing to have the correct lugs.  But you also have to have the correct oval washers.  The combination of the slotted wheels and the oval washers is were the problem lies.  Most people just want to put them on like a regular tire.  But I found out the hard way after stripping a stud on my new axles after I took off the tires for the first time.  And being in too much if a hurry another time stripping a another lug and wheel stud.  That you have to take your time putting them back on.  Or you are going to have problems.  After learning the hard way twice.  I have found that you have to hold the washer from turning and finger tight them as far down as you can.  Being very careful that the washer does not turn upside down.  Which will cause it to bind up.

Thats just my experience.  If your cars basically done and they are for the most part not going to be coming on and off.  You might end up liking them.  In my case I was doing an axle swap and messing with the new brakes.  So the wheels had to come on and off a few times.

As soon as I get the money I will be changing them.

If you decide to go with them.  I would advise you to have a spare set of lugs and washers on hand.  When you are in a pinch they may not be the easiest to find.  As I experienced the day before MATS!

I had them on my Satellite back in the 70s. I never had any problems with them but hate them anyway. They're just a general pain when removing and replacing the wheels. They say never say never. But, in this case, I'm saying it anyway. Never again for me. I hate the uni-lugs.

Me neither, the only time they suck is when you're removing/installing them. Once they're properly installed with the proper hardware there are no strength issues.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Man, this site is awesome. Every question i'm having about my car, someone else is having the same question. I found a decent set of western wheels in unilug, the wheels are about 7/8ths thick in the center.Do i need to use longer wheel studs or will the originals work. Out of twenty, i think there is only about 7 studs left. so i have to replace them any way. What "special" lug nuts do i need for these as well?   Thanks all

the studs are fine you need the proper lugs ....another good thing about uni lugs is, if and when you ever want to sell they,ll fit other cars....

That might be the only good thing about uni-lugs. :yesnod:

Just my opinion but stay away from them. They are a pain. Go with the correct bolt pattern and you will be better off.
